 Ushering in a new era - Are you an usher, or would you like to be one? If so, please attend the usher training meeting this Sunday, December 2, at 9am. If you are unable to come, please talk to Fr. George.

Wine Sale! We thank you very much for buying all the wine we had after installation. All funds went towards the costs of the Installation.

 Get ready for tax season! Please be sure to pick up your third-quarter pledge statements so we don’t have to mail them!

 Advent wreaths are here! If you pre-ordered a wreath from GFS, it is available for pick-up in the Guild Hall on December 2.

 Attention! Wildfire victims need your help! - During the pre-convention meeting for our Deanery, Bishop Taylor let us all know that the Diocese is collecting money for fire victims. No churches in the Diocese were burned, but some of our members lost their homes.  If you would like to donate, the website is

 Survivor kits: Please be sure to grab a Post-It or two from our Operation Shoebox Survivor Kit Board. Buy the items listed and bring them in before December 9. Questions? Contact Margaret Nolde. Thank you!

 Operation Shoebox is coming! For the past 18 years, St John the Divine has provided shoeboxes of gifts for children in the local community at Christmas time. Our wrapping date is December 9, but we need your donations to start coming in now! Please collect shoeboxes (we need about 200) and small gifts for children age 0 to 18 and drop them off at the church office. Gifts can be toys or personal items such as hats, socks, mittens, grooming items or school supplies. A list of suggested items will be provided. Questions? Contact Margaret Nolde.

 Join us for brunch! Please RSVP for Operation Shoebox before December 9. GFS will prepare brunch, and we want to know how much food to make!

 Calling All Women! - There will be a short ECW meeting following the 10am service on Sunday December 30. Please come with suggestions on projects, studies, seminars, or get-togethers for the coming year.

 Help us plan the budget! If you haven’t already done so, please fill out and turn in your 2019 pledge card. Lost yours? Just ask for another when you’re at church!

 Winley Gals Take the Stage! - Please come and support Tess Winley as the lead and Alee Winley in her supporting role at Newport Harbor High School’s rendition of “Stage Door”!  Tickets available at the door: Patrons 21 and over are $15/each. Students and those under 21 are $7/each.  You can get your tickets and choose your seats online at! As a bonus, you save money if you purchase online. Performances take place at Robert Wentz Theater, 600 Irvine Avenue, Newport Beach, November 30, December 1, 2, 7, 8 & 9.

 “SUNDAY SCHOOL PLAYERS” ARE NEEDED TO ACT! It’s that time of year! Please mark your calendars for Sunday, December 16 at the 10 am service.  Our fantastic children of Saint John the Divine are going to put on the Nativity for all to see.  PARENTS, if your children are available for the big performance on the 16th please contact Sunday school teacher, Tess Winley right away at (949)416-6440.  There will be a part for all interested children from 0-16!

 Fill the Pantry! – Let’s “Fill the Pantry” for SOS! For December - Happy Holidays! Holiday foods and treats for the family that you enjoy having at your celebration. Basic foods are always appreciated. Baby foods, juice boxes, tuna and canned meats, snack bars, cereal, pet food and toys. Contact Cindy at (949) 548-4712.

 Spiffing up for Christmas! On Tues., Dec. 18 the rug will be cleaned in the sanctuary, and the floor will be cleaned in the Guild Hall. We ask that no one walk in these areas until Wed., Dec. 19 so they have time to adequately dry. Thank you!

 Thanks for your generosity! Your contributions of socks for Socks & Sandwiches are greatly appreciated. Thank you for helping bring comfort to homeless people throughout Orange County.

 Flowers – What a beautiful way to celebrate an anniversary, birthday, or thanksgiving. A $30 suggested donation covers all Sunday’s altar flowers. Contact Emmy Lou Swanson for details.

 Prayer Requests – Prayer requests may be noted on the Prayers of the People sheet as you enter church. These prayers will be petitioned in today’s services. Confidential prayers may be submitted to any Daughters of the King member or e-mailed to Chery at
